Christian Howells is Head of Multi-Asset Investment Specialists, overseeing the team responsible for driving growth in the Multi-Asset business at Aberdeen. Before re-joining Aberdeen in 2024, he was EMEA head of product strategy at BlackRock Alternative Advisors, leading the capital raising and product development functions for the hedge funds solutions business.

Previously, he was Deputy Head of Aberdeen Solutions, leading on wealth-related complex client projects and providing business management and strategy advice in the leadership team. Prior to that, he held specialist and leadership roles covering Multi-Asset, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Quantitative Strategies at Aberdeen.

Christian joined the firm in 2010 via the acquisition of various asset management businesses from Royal Bank of Scotland where he was a fund manager responsible for over $1bn of Private Equity and Private Real Estate fund investments. Before moving to the front office, Christian oversaw the administration of RBS Asset Management’s alternative investment strategies and, prior to that, was a manager in the product risk and regulatory risk departments in Coutts & Co.
